Insurance in Arizona
A windshield claim for Tucson drivers.
Arizona leaves the glass deductible to your policy. Insurers have to offer full glass coverage, and each driver decides whether to add it. Here is how that plays out on a Tucson claim, with the statutes linked.

A.R.S. § 20-264
Full glass coverage is a choice you make
People often talk about Arizona's full glass law as if every policy already included it. It is an option, not a default. A.R.S. § 20-264 tells an insurer that sells comprehensive coverage on a private passenger car that it must offer, at the policyholder's option, coverage for broken safety equipment “without regard to any deductible.” The statute lists the glass in the windshield, doors and windows, plus the glass or plastic in the lights.
So there are two kinds of Tucson drivers. Those who added the option often pay $0 out of pocket for a covered windshield or side window. Everyone else meets their comprehensive deductible first. Your declarations page shows which one you are, usually under a heading like full glass, safety glass or glass coverage. Can't spot it? We go through the page together before you book.
Other statutes
Two more laws Tucson drivers ask about
- § 20-469
Picking the glass shop
Arizona drivers may pick their own glass repair facility, unless your policy contract says otherwise. When an insurer suggests a shop, the statute has it mention that choice in the same breath. Read § 20-469.
- § 28-957.01
Cracked windshields
Vehicles need an “adequate windshield.” No crack length is written into the law, so damage straight in front of the driver, or a crack that keeps creeping, is the practical reason to replace.
Step by step
Your Tucson glass claim with us
Policy check
Give us the insurer's name and your policy number. We find out whether full glass coverage is on it and what, if anything, you would owe, before a time is set.
Opening the claim
The claim is started in your name, on a call or in the insurer's app. We help you file your claim by giving them the glass and vehicle details they ask for. The claim stays yours.
The install
At your home, workplace or apartment lot anywhere in our Tucson area, Monday to Saturday between 8am and 6pm.
Billing
Once covered work is done, we bill your insurer directly. Any deductible on the claim is yours to pay us, and we never cover, waive or refund one.
Before you call
What to have in front of you
- Your insurance card or app, with the policy number.
- The date the damage happened and roughly where, such as I-10 near Ina Road or a hailstorm at home.
- The VIN, from the windshield corner or the driver door frame.
- A photo of the damage, which you can text to (877) 350-5962.
Insurance companies
Every insurer, no partnerships
A national carrier or a small regional one, we accept all insurance companies, and the steps above do not change from one to the next. We help you file with USAA, GEICO, State Farm, Progressive, Allstate or whichever company is on your card. Taking a company's claim is not a tie to that company. We have no partnership with any insurer, no insurer has approved us, and we do not act for any of them.
Steered toward a different glass shop by your insurer? Section 20-469 still leaves the pick to you, unless your policy contract says otherwise.

Insurance questions from Tucson
Have the policy handy and call (520) 492-2800. Our (877) line, (877) 994-5277, is answered 24/7.
Does every Arizona auto policy pay for a windshield in full?
No. Arizona requires insurers to offer full glass coverage as an option under A.R.S. § 20-264. If you bought that option, a covered windshield is often $0 out of pocket. If you did not, your comprehensive deductible applies. We tell you which it is before booking.
Will my premium go up after a windshield claim?
Only your insurer can answer that. We cannot predict it, so ask them before you file.
My insurer gave me a different shop. Do I have to use it?
No, as long as your policy contract does not say otherwise. A.R.S. § 20-469 gives Arizona drivers the pick of glass repair facility, and it requires an insurer that names a shop to mention that choice.
Does full glass coverage include my sunroof?
The statute does not name sunroofs. Some policies cover them anyway and some do not, so we check your policy wording before scheduling.
What if I would rather not use insurance?
Ask for a self-pay quote with your vehicle details. You see the price before anything is booked.
